ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Gopalpur College, Gopalpur a Premiere Higher Educational Institution on the middle of state-highways running from Dhamra Seaport to Balasore Town is working in the District of the Balasore Since its year of Establishment in 1978 to carter the Public need/demand of Higher Education. The Institution is centrally located in the backward coastal region of Bahanaga Block. At First the college was opened with the Facilities of Teaching in Intermediate Arts and was affiliated to Utkal University. Gradually the Higher Secondary Wings in Science and Commerce were segregiated to its program of teaching in the Year 1988 and 1992 respectively. However the Under Graduate course in Bachelor of Arts was insepted in the year 1987 just after complete 10 years from the establishment of the college. The Bachelor Degree of Science and commerce were opened in the year 1999 and 2004 in pass course. But Presently the college has been able to convert all its program in to hons. level teaching with proper government concurrence and affiliation from Fakir Mohan University. The College impacts hons. level education in 15 Subjects such as Botany, Chemistry, Commerce, English, Education, Economics, History, Hindi, Home Science, Odia, Political Science, Physics, Sanskrit , Sociology and Zoology in the pattern of Choice based credit system (CBCS) in broad category of Arts, Science and Commerce Stream.

Presently, the college has been grown to a sizeable form with one degree college in Arts, Science and Commerce stream and two higher secondary schools (One General & One Vocational) are running under its supervision in the campus. The all total student strength in the campus is more than 1800. The Boarding Facilities for the Girls Students, Gymansium Center, Employement Infromation Cell, Network Resource Center, Language Laboratory, SAMS Resource Center, EMH Center, College Canteen, Well Equiped Laboratories and Six Add-on programmes are available to the Students. The Collge has been affiliated to UGC in the year 1992 and accreditaed to NAAC(Bangalore) in the Year 2007 and it was placed in C++ Grade.
